Alphabutt

Swung by Manning Bar (Syd Uni) late last night to check out Kimya Dawson’s gig. It was a really intimate set…took a few songs to get going but then once her nerves were gone she started to open up to the crowd…

It was refreshing to see that her quirky sense of humour extends beyond her lyrics…in between songs she gave us little anecdotes on how a song came about, which you could tell the crowd really appreciated…oh and then there was the ‘zoo story’ which I don’t think anyone will ever forget!!!

By the way ‘Alphabutt‘ is the title of her new album, she wrote it for kids…
"Ladies and gentlemen, you are such a wonderful crowd, we'd like to play a little tune for you. It's one of my personal favorites and I'd like to dedicate it to a young man who doesn't think he's seen anything good today - Cameron Frye, this one's for you."
